The original concrete ditch on SR-96 near Geneva, GA had undermined in several places where water had penetrated the concrete joints. This caused the sandy soil below to erode.
The undermined concrete had to be removed and the ditch reshaped. Once the ditch was reshaped, the Retem 3D Steel Grid was installed in 2 hours.
At 8:30am on May 10, a Lafarge ready mix truck arrived. Lafarge provided 47 yd3 of 3,000 PSI concrete with a 4" slump. The concrete was placed in 4 hours.
