SCDOT Lexington Maintenance completed the first trial of The RETEM System in February of 2025 . The project is located on I-20 Westbound, between Highway 6 and Long’s Pond Road, at a SCDOT Weigh Station.
A washout in the slope had occurred after a large parking lot was located atop the slope. The parking lot water was channeled through a pipe which This water was a continuous problem, so Lexington Maintenance opted to try The RETEM System.
On Day #1, a trapezoidal ditch was shaped and 3-dimensinal grid deployed. Grid deployment took 30 minutes.
On Day #2, concrete was boom pumped and rake finished. Concrete placement and raking took less than 1 hour.
The RETEM System combines local ready mix with 3-dimensional steel grid.
