With Joey Nunnally and Frank Lundy, Baldwin County Engineers, open to trying The RETEM System, a site was soon chosen. The site is a narrow drainage easement between two homeowners, overgrown with vegetation.
The project is in a residential area on Clarke Ridge Road in Foley, AL. Flow from a pipe under Clarke Ridge Road had increased over the years from upstream development around a Golf Course. Residents adjacent to the drainage easement had contacted the county about flooding concerns.
The overgrown ditch was cleared and shaped with a 4 feet bottom and 4 feet side slopes. The Retem 3D Steel Grid was then placed atop a plastic sheeting. Once the steel was anchored, Ready Mix was ordered and pumped through a 2 IN line pump. The line pump was required because of access issues.
