Runoff from the I-275 overpass bridge flowed down the shoulder until it found a low point where it drained to the ramp below. This caused the undermining of the asphalt shoulder and guardrail.
Walsh Contracting decided to install The Retem System after hearing of its speed and ease.
Site grading began at 9:00 AM. Placement of the Retem 3D Steel Grid followed the grading. After the Grid was secured, 6 YD3 of concrete was placed. The only tools needed were garden rakes, and shovels. None of the crew had concrete experience. The project was completed before 1:00 PM.
